Professional Skills

CAD

I’ve been working with Gerber Acumark CAD software for around 2 years now. In total, I’ve made 3 bag mockups with new additions on each one, with my final bag getting a full construction and leather accents. I’ve also learned how to draft patterns, how to cut, make seam allowances, add darts, construct a skirt, and much more.

Retail Buying

Retail buying is something that I didn’t expect to enjoy so much. I started a couple of years ago, learning how to make 6-month plans and thinking it was very challenging, now what I originally thought was so challenging is something that I love to do, I have also learned how to do orders, stock classifications, and understand the month by month analysis of why sales are fluctuating and changing.

Marketing

Marketing is something that benefits everybody involved in a business, from customer relations to brand image; it is an integral part of a business. Marketing is knowing what the customer wants, understanding their psychology, and what drives the consumer. To understand this more fully, I’ve taken numerous marketing classes (for fashion and other), and in doing so, I’ve learned a lot about what good marketing looks like.
